He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hatten and Alice M. Hatten; his siblings, Lucy Mae, Georgia Fay Hatten, Daniel Lee and Paul Phillip Hatten; and his nieces, Lisa Ann, Judy Marie and Jeanie Marie Bealer.

He is survived by: his wife Patty Hatten (Hilliard); his daughter Sophia Hatten; his sister Susan Bealer (Allen); and his nieces, Paula Drake (Tom), Julie and Jamie Bealer.
