She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Ison and Sally Frazier Ison; her husband Herbert H. Smith; her children-in-law, Nancy Smith, Martin Dawahare and Steve Meade; her grandchild Carroll Allen Smith II; and her siblings, Doug Ison and Laura Meek.

She is survived by: her children, Carroll Smith, Herby Smith (Elizabeth) of Pine Mountain, Timothy Smith (Connie) of La Grange, Beverly Dawahare of Lexington, Charlotte Brown (Don) of Dry Fork, Susan Childre (Don) of Jacksonville, Sally Sauerbeck (Dave) of La Grange and Mary Meade of Winchester; and her siblings, Glenn Ison of Frankfort and Amelia Bone of Campbellsville.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel (102 Main St, Whitesburg, KY 41858). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (170 Madison St, Whitesburg, KY 41858).
