He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Day of Whitco, Kentucky; his children, Alicia Gail Day Cook (Wendell) of Colson, Laura Anne Whitaker of Jenkins and Charles Elbert Day of Whitco, Kentucky; his brother Floyd Ralph Day of Charlestown, Indiana.; and his grandchildren, Brian Cook, Amy Cook, Deanna Whitaker, Savanna Whitaker, Joseph Day and Adam Day.
