She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Alton and Dorothy Kathleen Singer (Cotnell); her former husband Edward Houston; her husband Robert E. Barnhill; her son Hank Houston; her stepchildren, Belinda Broyles and Lance Barnhill Sr.; and her grandsons, Lance Barnhill Jr. and Christopher Matthew Broyles.

She is survived by: her close friends, Bob Steele and Lysa Seitz; her adoptive son Jim McClintock (Janice); her children-in-law, Dianna Barnhill and Neil Broyles; her granddaughters, Elizabeth Wolz (Joseph) and Katie Norris (Jason); and her sister Leona Duncan.

Memorial donations can be made in Jo Ann's name to the American Cancer Society.
