He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelton Abanatha, Sr. and Clata Newman Abanatha Hays; his former wife Maudean Abanatha; and his siblings, Jane Gaylor, Mildred Campbell, Wayne Abanatha and Bobby Abanatha.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Henderson Abanatha; his stepchildren, Christina Morris of West Paducah, Jamie Haskins (Bruce) of West Paducah and Brandon Hicks (Stephanie) of Manchester, TN; his brother Don Abanatha (Linda) of Reidland; and his stepgrandchildren, Jacob Bayles, Caitlyn Tucker, Griffin Tucker, Autumn Hicks and Summer Hicks. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
