He was predeceased by: his father Carl V. Bivin; and his sisters, Sue Hill and Judy Runkle. He is survived by: his wife Janet Wray Bivin of West Paducah, Kentucky; his children, Michelle Wilkins (Jason) of Benton, Tiffany Wheeler (Bobby) of West Paducah, Kentucky and Joshua Bivin of West Paducah, Kentucky; his siblings, Cindy Runkle (Doug) of Paducah, Kentucky, Carl E. Bivin (Elaine) of Benton and Russell Bivin (Connie) of Benton, Kentucky; his brother-in-law Ron Runkle of Benton, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Brittany Mathis (Jake) of Benton, Kristen Willie of Benton, Trisha Russell (Cody) of Benton, Zachary Martin of Calvert City, Chase Bivin (Jade) of West Paducah, Kaily Bivin of Marion, Koleton Taber of West Paducah, Ella Wheeler of West Paducah and Jack Wheeler of West Paducah, Kentucky. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
