He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Adkins and Dora Nickell Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Vernie Kay Holbrook Adkins of West Liberty; his children, Melinda Cantrell (Jerry) of Morehead, KY. and Henry Adkins (Jennifer) of West Liberty, KY.; his sister Ruby Wingo of West Liberty, KY.; his grandchildren, Henry Clay Adkins, Hunter Cole Adkins, John Walker Adkins, Joy Beth Adkins, Jerria Mae Cantrell and Morgan Renee Cantrell; his siblings, Ruie Adkins and Hershell Adkins; his brother-in-law Albert J. Wingo; and his half-siblings, Jean Allen, Ida Grey Montgomery and James Adkins.
