He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nickell and Oakie Nickel Nickell; his wife Mary Frances May Nickell; his son Roger Byron "R. B." Nickell; and his siblings, Imogene Coombs, Robert Nickell, Eugene Nickell, Arnold Nickell, Nellie Smith, Betty Neal, Gladys Gevedon and Lingle Foreman.
He is survived by: his daughter Annette DeBurger (Steven) of Winchester, KY; his grandchildren, Jason Bowles (Michelle) of Winchester, KY and Raechelle Bowles (Becca Hooker) of Lexington, KY; and his sister Edna Nickell Daniel. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home (329 Glenn Ave, West Liberty, KY 41472). A memorial service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
