It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Luster Yates of West Liberty, Kentucky, who passed away on November 17, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Cole Yates. He is survived by: his sons, Carey Lee McKenzie (Kathy) of Salyersville, Michael Shawn Yates (Marissa) of Salyersville and Chad Everett Yates (Loretta) of Salyersville; his stepson Aaron Arnett; his daughters, Jennifer Slusher (David) of Salyersville, Emily Yates (Billy) of Salyersville, Brandy Yates (Johnny) of Salyersville and Micha Yates of Morehead; his brother Charles Smith of Salyersville; his stepdaughters, Judith Collins, Shirley Bailey and Alexis Bailey; his sister Kathy Carrick of Ohio; his grandchildren, Cody Slusher (Kristina), Chris Yates (Tara), Channing Yates (Jessica), Chelsea Mullins, Cirby Mullins (Shanda), Cory Slusher (Emmalee), Courtney Eldridge (Daron), Curtis Yates (Haley), Colby Kennedy (Bethany), Cole Kennedy, Isaac Yates, Justice Yates, Angelica McKenzie Bailey (Larry), Alexandria McKenzie, Emily McKenzie and Katherine Caudill; and his close friend Crystal Yates. He is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the White Oak Pentecostal Church (1165 Grape Creek Rd, Salyersville, KY 41465).
