He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lester Howard and Virlie Lou Bolin Howard; his son Timmy Ray Howard; and his siblings, James Hardin Howard, Lundie Howard, Elizabeth Vanover, Parleen Pack, Nannie Mae LeMaster and Dollie Keeton.
He is survived by: his wife Pearlie Mae Young Howard of West Liberty, Kentucky; his children, Eddie Jay Howard (Vivian Swafford) of West Liberty, Kentucky, John Ed Howard, Jr. of West Liberty, Kentucky, Samuel Howard (Renee) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Joseph Howard (Madison) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Debbie Cantrell (Randell) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Joann Howard of West Liberty, Kentucky and Patricia Mae Howard of West Liberty, Kentucky; and his siblings, Donnie Howard (Sue) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Shirley Adams of West Liberty, Kentucky. and Sharon Fannin (Ballard) of West Liberty, Kentucky.. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren; fifteen great - grandchildren.
