He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart McKinney and Ollie Cox McKinney; his parents-in-law, Henry and Thelma McKenzie Wells; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Wells, Wills "Willie" Wells and Linda Wells Dennis.
He is survived by: his wife Henrietta Wells McKinney; his aunt Vivian Roark of Lancaster, KY; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Whitaker (Bobby) of Frankfort, KY and Deborah Bright of Frankfort, KY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
