He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Goodpaster and Opal Muncie Goodpaster; his wife Nettie "Tid" Cantrell Goodpaster; his siblings, Harold Goodpaster and Nellevine Gibson; and his siblings-in-law, Buster Carpenter, Don Gibson, Roger Williams, Billy Ray Lewis and Venus Goodpaster.
He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Carpenter, Janice Lewis, Carolyn Williams and Jerry Muncie; his niece Kim Sparkman; his great-nephew DeeJay Gerald Sparkman; and his great-niece Chloe May Sparkman.
