He was predeceased by: his parents, Benny Valen and Mary Lou Sorrell Spencer; his wife Wanda Phyllis Pugh Spencer; and his siblings, Eula Kathernie Spencer Williams, Jackie and Lonnie Garland Spencer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Arlene Williams of Frenchburg, Arlie (Lucy Spencer) and J. B. (Sharon Spencer). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
