He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Hypes Pennington and Sarah Opal Caldwell Pennington; his sister Debbie Gollihue (Randy); his niece Miranda Yates; and his nephew Jeremy Gollihue.
He is survived by: his significant other Hildreth Faye Gillum Pennington; his daughters, Charlotte Perry (Jason), Rebecca Pennington of Webbville and Michele Kitchen of Huntington, WV; his brothers, Mark Pennington (Kim) of Sandy Hook, KY and Wesley Thomas "Tom" Pennington; his grandchildren, Nicole Bishop (James), Gabriela Perry, Lewis Kitchen, Aaron Kitchen and Alexandra Kitchen; and his great grandchild James Douglas Bishop.
