He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Padgett and Edith Jacobs Padgett; his children, Hurshel Padgett, Jr. and Peggy Rogers; his grandchildren, Tina Marie Padgett, Joey Padgett, Jr., Joshua Scott Webb and Bradley Counts; and his brothers, Bill Padgett, Claudie Padgett and Glen Padgett.
He is survived by: his children, Joey Padgett (Gidget), Rodney Wayne Padgett of Waynesburg, Wilma Rice of Waynesburg, Darlene Padgett of Waynesburg, Connie Padgett of Waynesburg, Kathy Padgett of Waynesburg and Marilyn Padgett of Waynesburg; and his siblings, Clayton Padgett (Pat) of Stanford and Corrine Thompson of Waynesburg. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
