He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sims and Lucy Allen Sims; his wife Wanda Bowman Sims; his son Kevin Sims; and his brother Clyde Sims.
He is survived by: his children, John Warren Sims of Warsaw, Kalvin Sims of Warsaw, Jason Wayne Sims of Warsaw and Pamela Jacqun Seip of Owenton; and his sister Laverne Marshall of Owsley County. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
