He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clarence and Minnie Mae McGill Ashcraft; his wife Freda L. Dunaway Ashcraft; and his siblings, Florence Miller, Virginia Morgan, Bertha Owens, Robert Ashcraft and Russell Ashcraft.
He is survived by: his children, Russell Ashcraft, Harry Ashcraft Jr., Freda Hoover and Linda Bressler; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Dunaway and Leroy Dunaway. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
