He was predeceased by: his parents, William Evans and Mary Collett; his brothers, Earl Evans, Donald Evans and Harry Lee Evans; and his wife Charlotte Ann Evans.

He is survived by: his sister Faye Williamson of Calvert City; his daughters, Debbie Helmer (Steve) of Williamstown and Teresa Owen (Bill) of Benton, Kentucky.; and his grandchildren, Jason Helmer, Kristen Walters (Adam), Craig Helmer (Jessica), Evan Owen (Taylor) and Kelsey Owen. He is also survived by Great-Grandchildren.
