He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Tackett and Causby Tackett Sr. (Thornsberry); and his siblings, Norma Meade, James Tackett and Oliver Tackett Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Sue Tackett (Noel); his children, Scott Tackett (Lori) and Gina Tackett; and his grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander, Ryan, Cylas and Eutah.
