He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Nickell and Myrtle Stephens Nickell; his brothers, Rondell Nickell and William "Bill" Nickell; his grandchildren, Shawn Michael Brown, Nathaniel and Samuel Brown; his great grandchild Ivy Hunt; and his son-in-law David Perry.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Brown Nickell; his daughters, Greta Nickell (Duane Trent) of Morehead, Cindy Brown (Clarence Goins) of Bracken County and Mindy Hamm (Tim) of Wallingford; his siblings, Ernie Nickell of Mays Lick, Paul Nickell of Morehead, Earl Nickell of Morehead, Murphy Nickell, Roberta Clark of Brinegar and Francis Lineberry of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his nephew Earl Nickell, Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
