He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Newell and Hallie Cain Newell Griggs; and his grandson P. J. Curry. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Babb Newell; his children, Debbie Conner (Allen Rogers), Donna Kelley (Doug) and Ronald Wayne Newell (Misty); his sister Marie McKinney; and his friends, Jimmy Hinkle and Paul Fagan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
