He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Lewis Tackett; his daughters, Brandy Kinney (BJ) of Virgie and Amanda Tackett of Ohio; his siblings, Rodney Tackett (Lavonne) of Virgie, Ronald Tackett (Joetta) of Virgie, Rickey Tackett (Molly) of Pikeville, Robbie Tackett (Cindy) of Virgie, Kevin Tackett (Lisa) of Virgie, Kyle Tackett of Virgie and Sharon Barr of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Alex Kinney (Aliah) and Emma Kinney.
