He is survived by: his wife Ivory Bates; his children, Scott Bates (Dona) of Long Fork and Missy Honaker (Roy) of Little Creek; his siblings, Edgnel Bates of Indiana, Raymond Bates of Fisty, KY, Daniel Bates Jr. of Indiana, Dale Bates, Sue Hampton of Michigan and Judy Beverly of Indiana; his grandchildren, Savannah Wright (Dylan), Zachary Honaker (Grace), Myles Bates (Amber) and Aaron Bates; and his great grandchild Weston Myles Bates.
