He is survived by: his spouse Sherril C. Newsome Smith; his children, Christina "Chris" Elswick (Jeff) of Long Fork and Stephan Smith (Rhonda); and his grandchildren, Austin Elswick, Andrew Smith, Tamara Bazan and Kassidy Hinkle.
