He was predeceased by: his father James Edward; his former wife Peggy Tackett Adkins; his wife Gracie Damron Adkins; his daughter Diane Lynn Hall; and his siblings, Art Newsome, Dale Adkins, Yale Adkins, Gaylon Adkins, Eva Jo Blair, Edna Adams and Mary Meeks.
He is survived by: his son Edward Adkins (Ronetta) of Marrowbone; his siblings, Sam Adkins of Newburgh, NY, Maudie Lea Estridge of Bear, DE, Ilene Chapman of Sarasota, FL and Katie Gizdovich of Albion, MI; his grandchildren, Alissa Wilburn (Lawrence), Steve Hall (Ella), Hollie Prater (Brady) and Kayla Coleman (Adam); and his great grandchildren, Felicity Hall, Bryan Wilburn, Kylee Coleman, Klay Coleman, Konor Coleman and Korbyn Coleman.
