He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt Roper and Mabel Combs Roper; his niece Chelsa Hackman; his nephews, Vernon Fugate and Arthur Cobb; and his close friend Terry Parris.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Roper; his sons, Gregory Roper of Hazard, KY and Robert Shane Roper (Deronda) of Hazard, KY; his siblings, Lorraine and Kenneth Cobb (Charlotte) of Hazard, KY; his granddaughters, Sydney and Taylor Maceyn; and his caregiver William Hamilton.
A reception was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the View Chapel.
