It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fay Whelan of Vine Grove, Kentucky, who passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Harold Norton; her son Robert Norton; her stepson David Lee Whelan; her children-in-law, Debbie Norton and Gene Hobbs; and her siblings, Mae Johnson, Herbert Ray and Lawrence Haynes.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph E. "Gene" Whelan; her children, Roger Norton and Denise Ellis (Harley); her stepchildren, Lisa Hobbs, Perry Whelan (Jean), Lonnie Whelan (Kelly), Joe Whelan (Susan), Rhonda Thompson (Gene) and Elaine McKinney (Jeff); her brother Houston "Doodle" Haynes (Joyce); her daughter-in-law Jane Norton; and her sister-in-law Arlene Haynes. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
