He was predeceased by: his sister Debi Kathman; and his mother-in-law LaVerne Toebben. He is survived by: his wife Diane Toebben Marx; his children, Annelies Seiter (Justin), Brent Marx (Emily) and Cynthia Marx; his grandchildren, Tripp, Jayna, Ben, Jack and Scotty; his parents, John Marx (Danielle) and Dorothy Hardin; and his father-in-law Matth.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Scott's name to the Norris Lake Litter Gitter.
