He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Long and Floyd Mitchell; his sons, William J. Mitchell, Jr. (Bill) and David Allen Mitchell; and his siblings, Jane M. Shipp and Kenneth Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Roberts Mitchell; his sister Myra Mitchell; his children, Brenda Lampton (Don) and Donald Mitchell (Kelly); his daughters-in-law, Mary Sue Mitchell and Virginia Mitchell; and his grandsons, Adam Mitchell (Jessica), Lucas Mitchell (Laura) and Logan Mitchell. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
