He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Thomas and Ethel Frances Burkhead Hood; his siblings, Beulah Hood Jenkins, Rose Hood Burkhead, Marshall Thomas Hood, Betty Hood Lay, Faye Hood Foley, Connie Hood Herrington, James E. Hood and Mary Hood Hill; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Thompson and Melvin Thompson (Anna Mae).
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Thompson Hood; his children, Jennifer Brooks and Justin Hood; his siblings, Gene Hood, Stanton, Walter G. Hood (Deborah), Mearl V. Hood Keeling (Ray) and Paul J. Hood (Lidda); his grandchildren, Jeremy Brooks (Amber Smith) and Jaysie Rae Alyissa Hood; his great grandchild Justin Allen Miller Brooks; his brother-in-law Bruce Thompson (Connie); and his close friends, Lila and Sammy Tipton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
