He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Shute and Amie West Shute; and his son James Robert Shute. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Chapman Shute; his children, Brenda Shute (Ted Zorn), David Shute (Lourie) and Daniel Shute; and his sister Shirley Boak. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
