She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Leslie Whalen Sr.; her parents, Campbell Nichols and Ester Thomas Nichols; and her siblings, Thomas Nichols, Elmer Nichols, Mary Metts and Lillian Craycraft.
She is survived by: her children, Carl Whalen Jr. (Brenda), Judith Ellen Whalen Adams (Jeff) and Brenda Whalen Harris Nonesuch (Wayne); and her grandchildren, Julye Marie Adams (William Wilson), Stefani Davis (James), Jeffery D. Adams (Loretta), Kari Whalen Boone (Danny), Christopher Harris (Sarah Green Harris) and Denver Sumner (Monica). She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or charity of choice.
