He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harmon and Mattie Doris Howell Mackey; and his brothers, John Steven Mackey and Darrell Mackey. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Mackey (Wayne Cash) of Independence, Karen Mackey (Tommy Shramm) of Covedale, Kentucky. and Timothy Mackey of Florida; his brothers, Gary Mackey of Vanceburg and Bobby Mackey (Denise) of Cold Springs, Kentucky.; and his grandsons, Tim Ferguson, Sean Ferguson, Tayler Ferguson, Brent Hertzenberg, Jake Ervin-Houp and Luke Houp.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Gaydos Funeral Home (159 2nd St, Vanceburg, KY 41179). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
