He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Adkins and Kate Coleman Adkins; his sons, Wade Adkins and Alan Adkins; and his siblings, Hazel Atherton, Hilda Delaney, Robert Adkins, Rollie Adkins and Roger Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Adkins; his daughters, Sharon Thurman (Kelly) of Livermore, Kathy Adkins (John Cross) of Buck Creek and Donna Ellis (David) of Utica; his daughters-in-law, Liz Adkins and Barb Adkins; and his brother Roy Adkins (Marie) of Utica. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
His involvement in the Masonic community was a reflection of his dedication to fraternity and charity.
