He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Holmes and Eula Leer Holmes; his wife Juetta "Judy" Holmes; his brothers, Leonard, James and Harold Holmes; his grandson Danny Holmes; and his daughter-in-law Cendy Holmes.
He is survived by: his sons, Jessie Wayne Holmes (Lisa) of Tennessee, Larry Holmes (Janet) of Owensboro, Timmy Holmes (Shannon) of Nuckols and David M. Holmes (Kris) of Utica; and his brothers, Charles Holmes, Gilbert Holmes and Denzil Holmes. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
