With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carl L. Mercer of Utica, Kentucky, who passed away on August 22, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, B. L. "Baum" Mercer and Nellie Young Mercer; his son Scott Mercer; and his sister Joyce McDonald. He is survived by : his wife Bette Jo Mercer; his children, Carlus Mercer (Stacy), John McDonald (Nancy), Byron McDonald (Andrea) and Michelle Green (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jason Mercer and Kristy Rodgers (David); his great grandchildren, Blaine, Judson and Levi Rodgers; and his grandchildren, Caitlin, Harper and Preston McDonald.
