He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Edrie Phelps Goodwin; and his siblings, Kenny Goodwin, Charles Goodwin, Bobby Duncan, Little J. Duncan, Juddie Duncan and Gustie Imus.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene McDaniel Goodwin of Upton, KY.; his son Matthew Goodwin (Samantha) of Upton, KY; and his siblings, Shirley Dye of Elizabethtown, KY, Ann Curry (Tag) of Glendale, KY, Lilly Payton (Gerald) of Glendale, KY, Martha Huffer (Wendell) of Elizabethtown, KY and Tommy Duncan of East View, KY. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
