He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel Vertrees, Sr. and Golda Hawk Vertrees; his wife Bonita Brown Vertrees; and his brother Dean Vertrees. He is survived by: his children, Mark Vertrees (Becky) of Upton, KY, Joe Vertrees (Jennifer) of Upton, KY and Sandy Bell (Brian) of Sonora, KY; and his siblings, Suzanne Carnes of Indiana, Stephen Beumel (Bonnie) of Elizabethtown, KY and Michael Beumel (Gerry) of Upton, KY. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren.
