He was predeceased by: his son James Skaggs; his parents, Leighlan T. and Mary Druen Skaggs; his son-in-law Clarence "Junior" Warren; and his siblings, Doris Bailey, Naomi Bailey and William "Buzzy" Skaggs.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Lucille Bailey Skaggs; his children, Imogene Warren of Magnolia, Eloise Phillips of Horse Cave, Mellony Skaggs of Hodgenville and Gerald Skaggs (Patty) of Savannah; his daughter-in-law Marsha Skaggs of Upton; his siblings, Faydell Nunn of Magnolia and Tom Skaggs (Hazel) of Magnolia; and his grandchildren, Brian Warren, Dan Skaggs (Jennette), Steven Skaggs (Tana), Shel Warren, Monisa Philbeck (Bill), Beverly Lewis (Todd), Chris Phillips (Belinda), Wendell Skaggs (Mitzi), Laura Beth Phillips, Wesley Warren (Nicole) and Andrew Skaggs (Leigh Ann). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
