With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Smith of Trenton, Kentucky, born in Pembroke, Kentucky, who passed away on January 15, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Smith and Jewell Garrott Smith; his former wife Charlene Powell Smith; and his stepdaughter Barbara Lawson Porter. He is survived by: his wife Irene Lawson-Smith of Trenton; his children, Jamie Smith (Sue) of Columbia, Kentucky and Michelle Smith Creasman (Tommy) of Decatur, Tennessee; his stepdaughters, Ruth Lawson Bland (Stewart) of Trenton and Jenny Lawson Morris (T. T.) of Trenton; his brother J. D. Smith (Malinda) of Trenton; his grandsons, Trey Watson (Kayla) of Niceville and Tyler Watson (Tiffany) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and his stepgrandchildren, James Creasman of Decatur, Anna Creasman Lee of Billingham and Lawson Bland of Maine. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
