He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Sergent and Bernice Dixon Sergent; his son Joe Sergent; his brothers, Vernon (Jewell Sergent) and David (Catherine Sergent); and his grandson Christopher Sergent.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberley Ramsey (Richard) of Madison, AL, Courtney Trusty (Brandon), Jesse Sergent (Samantha) and Michael Sergent; and his brothers, Ira Sergent (Ernestine) and Virgil Sergent (Adah). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
