He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Jefferson and Eunice Marie Vibbert Copas; his siblings, Charlie, John David, Gary Copas (Frosty), Stella Joy Price and Glathey Strode; his mother-in-law Carolyn Bryant; and his daughters, Carolyn Marie and Trina Faye Copas.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Poole; his children, Kara Beth Hunter (Justin) of Scottsville, KY and Kyle Wayne Copas (Faith Kean); and his siblings, Joyce Pedigo of Tompkinsville, Barbara Stewart of Tompkinsville, Betty Pennington (Red) of Tompkinsville, Virgil (Betty) of Tompkinsville, Freddie Copas of Tompkinsville and Kynley Gee.
