It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lavene Smith of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, who passed away on October 26, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Omer Leek and Minnie Susan White (Petett); her husband Floyd Eagle Smith; her son Neal Duane Key; and her siblings, Steve White and Kay Frances Joseph.
She is survived by: her children, James Key (Patty), Tim Key (Smeria) of Tompkinsville, Rachel Meador (Richard) of Scottsville and Unika Hale (Barry) of Tompkinsville; her stepchildren, Anthony Wayne Smith of Tompkinsville and Sandra Kay Crompton of Glasgow; her siblings, Paul Baughman, Randy White and Dolly Thomas; her daughter-in-law Regina Key; and her grandchildren, Eric Key, Robert Key, Nicole Hall, Kendra Hale and Autumn Hale. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
For the protection of Mrs. Smith's family, it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshear's recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
