With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gay Hestand of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, who passed away on November 1, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Tula Plumlee (Smith) and Eugene Plumlee; her son N. J. Hestand; and her grandson Kerry Lee Hestand. She is survived by: her grandson T. J. Hestand; and her great grandchild Kenleigh Joanne Hestand.

“Gay and l were 1st cousins as mother(lona Smith Hatcher) and her mother(Tula Smith Plumlee) were sisters. We loved visiting in our homes with each other and l remember Gay as a sweet and lovely person. She was active in her church and loved her son and grandson and his daughter passionately as well as her parents. I will miss our long phone calls as we would catch up on each other’s life and families. Always loved and missed. Her cousin, Corena (Rena)”
