He was predeceased by: his former wife Vera Francis Proffitt; his parents, Grover Cleveland Denton and Zona Avo Grace Denton; and his siblings, Bedford, Dale, Ed, Thomas Denton, Marie Roddy and Ruth Molene Walker Daniels.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Sue Wilson; his children, Kevin Ray Denton of Tompkinsville, Fowler Nicholas Denton of Murfreesboro, TN, Amanda Sue Denton of Glasgow and Jeremiah Wayne Denton of Tompkinsville; his grandson Jackson Robert Denton of Glasgow; and his siblings, Winnie Irene Denton of Tompkinsville and Darrell Lee "Flea" Denton of Tompkinsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
