He was predeceased by: his parents, Belvin Applegate and Hildred Mason Applegate; his son Garrett; his brother Howard Applegate; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Thomas and Donna Applegate.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Hager Applegate; his sons, Brett M. Applegate and Jason Applegate (Jennie); his siblings, Paul Applegate, Billy Applegate and Rena Thomas; his grandchildren, Lauren Applegate, Haylee Applegate and John Applegate; and his pets, Jasper and Ebber.
