He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Earl and Pauline Cooper Hafer; his siblings, Ronnie Wilson, Toyna Carner and Joyce McCoy; and his grandson G. P. Hafer III.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Horsley Hafer; his children, Paul Bryan Grierson of Carlisle, Kentucky, Anthony Dane Grierson of Orangeburg, Kentucky, Gary Paul Hafer Jr. of Marion, Virginia, Andrew Harrison Hafer of Marion, Sandra Nolen of Sanantonio, Texas, Amanda Cole of Boone, Kayla Dawn Adams of Hillsboro, Kentucky, Tia Rochelle Adams of Hillsboro, Kentucky, McKensie Riopell of Auburn, Maine and Megan Stitt of Marion; and his half-siblings, Carlos Hafer of Huston, Texas and Jo Hafer Conley of Hurley, Mississippi.. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
