She was predeceased by: her parent Henry Sexton. She is survived by: her parent Sarah Sexton; her children, Elmer Bates Jr. of Neon, Gilbert Alan Bates of Thornton, Shannon Ray Combs of Neon, Frances Cook of Mayking and Jenny Bates of Thornton; her brothers, Leona LaFavors of Indiana, Allene McCool of Knott County and Ricky Sexton of Whitesburg; and her grandchildren, Derek Cook, Sandra Holbrook, Elmer M. Bates III, James Bates, Gilbert Alan Bates Jr., Edna Lee Eldridge, Lester Dewayne Bates, Gary Lynn Sexton Jr., Robert Paul Sexton, Shaina Combs and Kelsey Combs.
