He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville Dotson and Dessie Mae Hardin Dotson; his stepsons, Michael Maddox and Elvis Baine; and his sister Betty Hilbert.

He is survived by : his significant other Mary Sue Welch; his daughter Sibrina Crouch (Jonathan) of Taylorsville; his stepsons, Fred Maddox (Victoria) of Shelbyville, Ricky Dale Maddox (Beverly) of Taylorsville and Roy Lynn Bain of Taylorsville; and his grandson Daniel Patton of Taylorsville.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home (101 Reasor Ave, Taylorsville, KY 40071). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
