He was predeceased by: his wife Winona Tyler Hammond; his daughter Judy McWherter; his parents, Hugh Hammond and Stella Cox Hammond; and his brothers, Arthur Hammond and Elmer Hammond.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Spaulding (Danny), Jimmie Hammond (Shirley) and Sonny Hammond (Sandy); and his son-in-law Dennis McWherter. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren.
